1. -- Inside the Duffel --
Use small plastic grocery bags or cloth 'mini duffel' bags inside your child's duffel or suitcase for them to fill up with dirty clothes. This way, clean clothes stay separate and fresh and do not get wet from having dirty clothes thrown in on top of them. This idea really DOES work!

2. -- Practice Packing --
Set out clothes and let your child PACK THEIR OWN GEAR.

3. -- Sleeping Bag/ Bed roll --
Have your child practice (several times!) rolling up and fastening the straps on their sleeping bag or bed roll.

4.

-- Organization --
Letting your child HELP organize their own gear provides them with "ownership" of the process.

Please help us by labeling all clothes items, towels, flashlights, snorkeling gear, entertainment items (such as CD players), etc. with your child's name.

Every year we return to Winston with a large collection of "unclaimed" clothing, flashlights, cameras, CD Players, sandals, sneakers -- the list goes on and on.

Please help us on this one by at the very least putting your child's initials on each item so we can return the "lost and found" item to the correct owner!
